Pattern: The number at the center is the product of the sum and the difference of the two numbers at the end.

In fig 2,

48 = (8+4)*(8-4) = (12)*(4)

In fig 3,

13 = (7+6)*(7-6) = (13)*(1)

Therefore in fig 1,

21 = (5+?)*(5-?) which implies, ? = 2 (ANSWER = 2)

 

2. In a certain code, TAILOR is written as LIORTA, then how will you write AUTHOR in this code?

Pattern: TAILOR : LIORTA

Hence,

3. Manav is Shweta's granddaughter's mother's son. How is Manav related to Shweta?

Answer: Sheweta’s Granddaughter’s Mother would be either Shweta’s Daughter or Daughter in Law, and hence, her son Manav would be Shweta’s grandson.
